Volunteer Tutors
Concerned citizens who wish to be volunteer tutors will receive instruction in tutoring. Periodic workshops are conducted. The most important requirement for being a tutor is the desire to help someone learn to read or to speak English.
Tutors meet their assigned student at a convenient place, usually a library or church, once or twice a week for an hour. Times and dates are flexible and can be worked between student and tutor. Students and volunteers are encouraged to work with each other for a minimum of six months.
